(KRON) -- The San Jose Police Department said it is looking for additional victims after a 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the unprovoked stabbing of another man in late September.
SJPD said patrol officers responded Sept. 26 to a local hospital to investigate a stabbing that occurred earlier that day.
Investigators learned the victim was walking near Branham Lane and Kingspark Drive when he was confronted by the suspect, who grabbed and stabbed him multiple times before fleeing the area. The victim took himself to a local hospital for treatment.
SJPD said it identified the suspect as Paul Marquez, of San Jose, using surveillance footage obtained by its Real Time Intelligence Center (RITC).
Marquez was located and arrested in San Jose on Oct. 3 and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, according to police.
"Due to the nature of the attack, detectives believe there may be additional victims," police said in a news release.
